School Highlights

  • Full IB Diploma Programme offered, with 21 students earning the IB diploma in 2018.
  • Academics, arts and athletics are Washburn pillars in the development of the whole student.
  • Spotlight Award-winning musical performances and Ordway Sally Award-winning Black Box Theater lead Washburn’s visual and performing arts program.
  • Every MPS sport available at Washburn, including state-ranked varsity girls and boys soccer teams.
  • Technology courses include: intro to engineering, robotics, principles of engineering, computer integrated manufacturing, digital engineering, computer coding, digital photography, photoshop, and design theory.

  • Largest number of Bilingual Seal and Proficiency Certificates awarded in 2018 of any MPS high school: 240.  World languages at WHS include: Arabic, ASL, French and Spanish.
